Holy Week Timeline

As you celebrate Holy Week as a family and lead one another in family devotions, enjoying the Scriptures and the story of Jesus' death and resurrection, we have prepared this downloadable and printable pdf graphic of the HOLY WEEK TIMELINE. Each day offers a summary of the events of the day with a Scripture passage that will help you pass this story down to your children.

There are some beautiful passages in Scripture that walk our families through the life, ministry, death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus Christ. They proclaim the Gospel, the Good News of His salvation, allowing us to continue to pass these things down to the next generation.

Paul preached in Antioch in Pisidia, "God has brought to Israel a Savior, Jesus, as he promised...to us has been sent this message of this salvation. For those who live in Jerusalem and their rulers, because they did not recognize him nor understand the utterances of the prophets, which are read every Sabbath, fulfilled them by condemning him. And thought they found in him no guilt worthy of death, they asked Pilate to have him executed. And when they had carried out all that was written of him, they took him down from the tree and laid him in a tomb. But God raised him from the dead, and for many days he appeared to those who had come up with him from Galilee to Jerusalem, who are now his witnesses to the people. And we bring you the good news that what God promised to the fathers, this he has fulfilled to us their children by raising Jesus...Let it be known to you therefore, brothers, that through this man forgiveness of sins is proclaimed to you" (Acts 13:23,26-32,38).

Paul also provides a brief overview of the major events of Holy Week in his letter to the church in Corinth, writing, "For I delivered to you as of first importance what I also received: that Christ died for our sins in accordance with the Scriptures, that he was buried, that he was raised on the third day in accordance with the Scriptures, and that he appeared to Cephas, then to the twelve" (1 Corinthians 15:3-5).

As you enjoy these Gospel truths this week, walk your family chronologically through the timeless story of our Savior's sacrifice and resurrection, praying the Lord will continue to move in your hearts and homes.
